Group Game Project 'Into the sky' Enemy Boss animations

The Boss for the game was a designed so that parts of the plane could be shot off. This ment that the enemy had to have each breakable part rigged and animated individually and then assembled in the program code. Here are some of the animated parts for the boss plane.

Here is an animation of parts of the rig assembled

Group Game Project 'Into the Sky' player plane

Another module I had at Abertay during my third year was a module called 'personal project'. In this class we had to get into a group of people to produce a protoype for a video game in whihc we all had individual roles.

The prototype we produced was for a game called 'Into the Sky'. This game involves the player controlling a small fighter plane having to shoot and take down individual parts of a giant enemy boss plane to win the game.

The team leader in this group was Simon Doyle. The programmers in the group where Stephanie Bazeley, Grant Cambell, Peter Edmond, Gary Robertson and Andrew Bean. The sound artist was Jaime Cross. The model artist was Adam Dart and the texture artist was Andy Tait. My role in the group was to rig and animate the models produced as well as creating some textures for the cloud, smoke and fire particle effects.

Here are some early animations created for the player plane.

Advanced Animation year 3 progression

During my 3rd year at Abertay University, I had to create a short rendered animation. The character rig I used and created is a character called 'Robyn'. Robyn is a strange witch who never pays attention in class and so gets punished for her laziness and is told to sweep up the corridor. While sweeping she looks up into the sky and longs to be free. She then enchants her broomstick so she is able to fly on it. During this out of control flying sequence she learns her love for flying.

This is the final animation:

Here are the progression playblasts I created as tests to see if i could work the rig I created but also to practice representing weight within animation.

Second year Hand Drawn Animation

This is the hand drawn animation I made in the second semester of my second year studying computer arts at Abertay university. The story is based around a theif named 'Francis' who wants to full fill his dream of becoming a famous theif like his father. However due to his clumsiness he usually fails. This was a short animation create for the character animation module. The sound effects used for the laser was used from http://www.grsites.com/archive/sounds and the gun clicks and ding souns effects where used from http://www.soungle.com/
